Qualifications Masters in any subject or 1st Class Bachelors (Honors) in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent. Excellent analytical ability essential. Familiarity with metadata annotation and curation for development of a digital library/repository will be an advantage.
Relevant Experience 1 year’s hands-on experience in some of the followings:

  • Metadata standards and schemas (Generic and Domain-specific)
  • Metadata annotation & curation for a digital library/repository
  • DDC/LCC/LCSH/MeSH Classification Scheme
  • MARC/SIP/AIP/XML data handling
  • Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository
  • Linux environment/commands, Team Viewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point Or 1 year’s working experience in reputed library Or Fresher in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent with high academic achievement and competence in Linux environment/commands, Team Viewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point Responsibilities for the position are several of the followings:
  • Metadata annotation & curation of large volume sources using services programmers
  • Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository
  • Training/hand-holding others in setting up and harvesting Institutional Digital Repository Posting: Kharagpur or Kolkata or Guwahati Other Benefit:
  • House Rent Allowance over and above consolidated salary as per Central Government norm if posted at Kolkata or Guwahati. Accommodation provided if posted at Kharagpur.

  • Metadata annotation & curation of large volume sources using services programmers
  • Guiding junior curators for annotating & curating metadata and reviewing and certifying their outputs
  • Setting up Institutional Digital Repository
  • Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository
  • Training/hand-holding others in setting up and harvesting Institutional Digital Repository Posting: Kharagpur or Kolkata or Guwahati Other Benefit:
