Research and publications have been one component of Higher Education where India has a lot more to progress. Research publication of Indian researchers has been victim of international criticisms for poor quality and compromises with predatory journals. The stern measures taken by UGC to curb predatory journals and to streamline quality of publications have set a new milestone to achieve quality in Higher Education. With National Education Policy – 2020, when Indian Higher Education is expected to have a quantum leap in quality, research and research publication needs awareness amongst academia for adherence and accord of quality. NAAC is organizing an Awareness Program on Predatory Journals on Friday, 11th September, 2020. The session will be address by eminent academician Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan, Chairman CARE Empowered Committee and Vice-Chairman UGC. The Panel Discussion would be moderated by Dr. Archana Thakur, Joint Secretary, UGC. The Panel will consist of eminent academicians like Dr. Shubhada Nagarkar, CPE, UGC Cell at SPPU, Pune, Dr. Pramod K Nayar, Professor of English, University of Hyderabad, Prof. Arun Kharat, Former Director IQAC, Jawaharlal Nehru University Former UGC CARE Nodal Officer, Northern Zone, Prof. R.C Deka, Prof of Chemistry and Dean School of Sciences, Tezpur University would address the queries related to research publications that are submitted by the academicians and researchers.

The second session on Quality Research Publications: Process and Procedures will consist of address by international publishers.
